Anne Abernethy joined her husband Tim Wepner in the financial industry over 15 years ago when her father Claude Abernethy was winding down a 50+ year career as a stockbroker and financial advisor.  As a young person, she had worked for her father in his office, so it seemed fitting for her to officially join the family business.  Over the years, her role in the office has been varied but has primarily focused on client relations and marketing of the business. 

Over the years, Anne has been very active in the Newton community, serving for four years on Newton City Council and helping with numerous downtown efforts.  For over 18 years, she has served in a part-time capacity as pastor of Bethel United Church of Christ in Hickory.  Anne is a 1978 graduate of Davidson College and in 1988 earned the degree of Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in pastoral counseling.   When not at church or with family, she might also be found onstage in a play at one of the local community theaters.

Henry graduated from Appalachian State University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and banking. Shortly after, he joined his parents at Wells Fargo Advisors in an administrative role. During that time, he was able to learn the ins and outs of the wealth management industry while developing meaningful relationships with clients and gaining an understanding of their financial needs. After three years in administration, he decided to become a third-generation financial advisor. He is now able to use his knowledge of the industry to provide holistic, comprehensive investment planning for families, individuals and businesses.

Henry and his wife Bri live in Newton with their two dogs, Ruby and Bindi. He enjoys various outdoor activities and is constantly participating in local soccer, bowling, and disc golf leagues. He also serves on the Board of the Newton Depot Authority, a local organization dedicated to the preservation of railroad history.

With over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, Tim Wepner has seen major shifts in the market and has guided clients by helping them to create balanced portfolios.   On the advisory team, he is the researcher, looking at available financial products and making determinations as to which ones might be the best fit for specific client accounts.  By looking at the big picture, he seeks to align each client’s investment objectives, personal goals for spending/saving, and any other unique factors of their situations with the design and implementation of their investment plan.

Growing up in Ripon, Wisconsin, Tim became an adopted North Carolinian in 1979 when he married his wife, Anne.  They have lived in Newton for over 30 years, have raised 12 children (both biological and adopted) and now have 12 grandchildren with more on the way.  Tim is a 1976 graduate of Ripon College and later attended Dominican University with a concentration in accounting. Tim began his career with Interstate Johnson Lane in 1991. Through mergers and acquisitions, he then worked for Wachovia Securities and later Wells Fargo Advisors.
